Analogue Train Controllers with Feedback
These N/TT/HO/OO units are designed to give constant speed running on gradients, around curves and through complex pointwork. Suitable for all types of motor except coreless (e.g. Portescap range).
Both the handheld and panel mount versions employ feedback, i.e. the controller senses the change in back EMF* when the train climbs or descends a gradient, crosses pointwork, etc., and automatically adjusts the speed to compensate.
*EMF - Electromotive force, a voltage produced by the motor in opposition to the applied control voltage.
FC-1 Handheld Walkabout Controller
A "roving" controller, with three metres of four-core cable, which allows the operator to move freely around the layout whilst maintaining full control over train movements. High quality unit includes a pulse circuit for reliable starting and excellent low-speed control, essential for shunting operations.
Other features include:
Suitable mains transformer TR1 (0-15V, 0-15V at 1.6A per winding).
- Full overload and short circuit protection with red LED indicator
- Green LED track power indicator
- Toggle direction switch with centre-off position
- Large speed control knob for precise starting/stopping
Input voltage 14 -18V a.c. from transformer
Output voltage 0-12V d.c.
Output current 1.5 amps max.
